We tend to celebrate the big whizzy stuff, but often the small, everyday stuff is just as memorable. I've been lucky enough to go on amazing holidays with my mum. But one of the memories I will always carry is of us regularly collapsing with laughter on the sofa over something daft. Spending time doing ordinary is worth so much.

Thank you so much for sharing, Lisa! I love this so much: "Spending time doing ordinary is worth so much." My mom loved watching TV and movies in her favorite leather recliner. I used to wish we could do more things, but we couldn't because of her cancer diagnosis and the pandemic. In the end I cherished the time spent with my mom relaxing in front of the TV, watching favorite TV shows, and being in each other's company. Doing ordinary, indeed!

Totally agree that saying bad news outloud makes it real.

Enjoy the moments with your mom if you can.
